Lunch for Libraries - a Madison Public Library Foundation fundraiser held annual in spring that helps support Madison Public Library

There are many ways to show your support for Madison Public Library! In fact, you support us every time you check out materials, visit a library location, or utilize online databases. However, if you're looking to do even MORE to support the library, there are several options:

Donate to Madison Public Library Foundation

Since 1993, the Madison Public Library Foundation has been committed to developing sustainable and vibrant partnerships between the community and the city’s library system. They help bridge the financial gap between publicly funded library services and all the experiences that library staff want to deliver to the community by raising millions of dollars each year for collections, technology, programs, professional development, equity and innovation projects, capital campaigns, endowments and the Wisconsin Book Festival.

With the help of generous donors, they build better libraries every day. In 2023, they were able to give more than $1 million to support Madison Public Library. There are several ways to give, including:

  • A small monthly donation to the annual fund
  • Attending one of the two annual fundraising events - Lunch for Libraries and Ex Libris
  • Purchasing a Wisconsin Book Festival membership
  • Getting Madison Public Library branded gear

Your tax-deductible contribution helps advance library services, builds collections, and improves technology and facilities.
