Need help with a legal issue and don't have a lawyer? The State Bar of Wisconsin's Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) is one place to start. LRS is a public service to help identify the most appropriate resource for consumers with legal problems.
You can call and speak to one of their legal assistants for free, who won't provide legal advice but will hopefully be able to refer you to an attorney that may be able to help you with your specific legal problem. Or, you can obtain a referral to a lawyer from their online system after you answer some basic questions and pay a fee of $30.
If you're looking for a particular attorney, you can use the State Bar of Wisconsin's Lawyer Search, which provides basic information about attorneys licensed to practice law in Wisconsin.
